Living and teaching abroad placed Dr. Stone in the middle of bomb threats, earthquakes, political unrest, and the geopolitical tensions surrounding nuclear testing.
What she carried home wasn't fear, it was clarity. Real institutions need real plans. Real leaders practice composure long before they need it.
Today, that conviction shapes every plan she writes, every drill she designs, and every leadership team she trains.
Dr. Sherry Colgan Stone is a passionate advocate for campus safety with over 36 years in education, including 25 years dedicated to creating secure environments for K-12 schools and Institutions of Higher Education.
Through her full-time role as an Emergency Services Coordinator for a large law enforcement agency, and her company, Stone Campus Safety, she empowers communities through connection and preparedness.
Her journey in campus safety began when she taught at an American school in Pakistan, where navigating bomb threats and other crises sparked a lifelong commitment to school safety. Dr. Stone has since built innovative safety programs for current and past employers, most notably as Chula Vista Elementary School District's first Emergency Preparedness & Security Manager, where she led the COVID response for the largest elementary school district in California.
She enjoys sharing insights nationwide as a part-time instructor for Texas A&M's TEEX, a member of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium. With a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership and a heart for service, she serves on boards including the Joyful Child Foundation and InfraGard San Diego, championing compassionate prevention and intervention.
Dr. Stone inspires leaders to act with care and vigilance to prevent workplace and school violence.
